So… just how much have standards changed re rooftop solar systems?
Electricity prices have risen, so how do you cope? Perhaps by replacing your solar system now? Why? Because older systems no longer “cut it”.
Back in the day, a typical rooftop solar system generated 2kWh of power. Now - in 2024 - minimum 5kWh and up to 10kWH for single phase and 30kWh for consumers with what is called a 3 phase power connection.
Even with the current higher tariff for these older systems, the maths shows that new systems will generate you more savings due to the improvements in technology. And with homes becoming more modern (and that means more power consumption) and EVs increasingly entering family garages and driveways, these bigger systems are ALSO now needed to cover these extra power demands in the home.
