Solar Myths Debunked No.1

So, you have a solar system here in Canberra, ACT, and it’s getting on a bit. Why? Because Canberrans have often proven to be early adopters of solar technology. & the only reason you’re still keeping the old system is because of the “high” feed-in tariff.

You think you’re winning… but deep down you know you’re not. Why? Because while your receive the higher tariff (say, 40c per kWh), your system size is much smaller (minimum 3.5 times) than the standard solar system that is installed today.

So while your tariff may be higher, you are missing out on the multiplier effect of having a modern, larger and more efficient system.

Also, there is an issue with the older solar panels… but we will have more to say about that in Solar Myths Debunked No. 2.

And, if you are now finding yourself home more - either retired or working from home, you are probably not going to have any excess power to feedback into the grid. I’ll have more to say about this too, soon, as I continue to educate and share my experience with you.
