What it is

The five-year test your inverter needs.

Anti-islanding is the safety function that shuts your solar down if the grid goes off, so power can't flow back into lines that linemen think are dead.

Evoenergy requires this protection to be tested every five years on grid-connected systems in the ACT. It's a quick job for a licensed electrician, but skipping it can put you out of compliance with your connection agreement.

We test your inverter's anti-islanding protection, confirm it disconnects correctly and issue the certificate. If we find a fault, we'll tell you what it needs.

Good questions

Frequently asked

What is anti-islanding testing?

It checks the safety function in your solar inverter that shuts the system down if the grid loses power. This stops your panels from feeding electricity back into lines that workers may believe are dead.

How often do I need it in the ACT?

Evoenergy requires grid-connected solar systems in the ACT to be tested every five years. If you're not sure when yours was last done, we can help you work it out.

What happens if I don't get it tested?

You can fall out of compliance with your Evoenergy connection agreement. Keeping the test current also makes sure your system shuts down safely when it should.

Do you test systems you didn't install?

Yes. We test any grid-connected ACT solar system, whoever installed it, and issue the certificate.
